For those who can't be bothered with long journals: Submitting new manga; Yay or Nay?
So I've been thinking of submitting some new manga and was wondering how many people are interested in reading this time around.
I've mostly just been thinking about the plotholes and contradictions that came out of my last two, which then helped me come up with a story I find interesting enough to want to write and draw about. A lot of different ideas and directions have went through my head over the last few weeks and I've finally decided on something that I think I might enjoy writing.
But in my head, it seems like this one might be a little longer than Angel Fallen so I thought I might see how many people are still interested in reading before I commit myself to a third manga project. Of course, that's not to say I wont do it just because people aren't reading - I'm doing it for fun after all - but it's always nice to get feedback on this kind of thing.
Anyway, I've been playing around with some character designs and am starting to feel confident on starting work:

Only problem is whether or not the style will hold in ink or if I'll actually be able to draw this style continuously without the characters looking different every time. And this also isn't exactly a preview of what's to come since I tend to change my mind once I start working. That's why I haven't really talked about what the story is going to be about yet, either. Last time I was thinking of writing a fantasy based manga but ended up doing Angel Fallen.

And here you can even see how different my two main characters ended up looking (Angel Fallen):

Then there's the difference between the first-draft pages and final submissions (again, Angel Fallen):

And the title page was a complete U-turn:

In the original sketch, I was planning on having a story that revolves around Melissa's refusal to kill and how the assassin organisation manage to "turn" her (it involved Emily getting mutilated until Melissa caves). Which was the original meaning to the title "Angel Fallen". But of course, I ended up hating the story, giving up for a year, and then opting out for (in my opinion) a much darker and crueller story, yet without the gore that I had in mind for my first idea. Mostly because I want story instead of graphic violence.
For this third manga that I'm writing, I'm thinking of taking it in a different direction once again. Most likely this will be the first of my manga to have a happy ending. But we'll have to wait and see if I actually stick to that.
[oh, and congrats to anyone who read this journal all the way through xD]
